Have you heard about a Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM (CDJR) recall or Mazda recall, but aren’t sure if your vehicle is part of it? CDJR and Mazda recalls cover models from these brands, but you may need to do look up the specific make and model to see if your vehicle has a recall. You can find information about Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, RAM, and Mazda recalls on the manufacturer sites.

Do you drive a vehicle from a different automotive brand? You can visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to look up vehicle recalls as well as car seat, tire, and equipment recalls. You can also visit Kelley Blue Book to look up recalls.

Common Vehicle Recall Questions

Why is There a Recall?

The NHTSA or manufacturer has identified an issue that impacts the safety of your vehicle or your vehicle’s performance. A recall is the manufacturer’s way of correcting these issues.

How Do I Look Up a Vehicle Recall for Mazda, CDJR, or another brand?

You can visit the manufacturer’s site for recall information or contact Whitten Brothers Automotive for assistance. We can look up recall information using your vehicle identification number (VIN), and we’ll be able to tell you if your specific vehicle has any open recalls.

What Do the Results of the Recall Lookup Mean?

If there’s an open recall on your vehicle, it means that your specific make and model does have a recall. Open recalls fall into two categories:

  • “Incomplete” means that you have an open recall for your vehicle, and you need to bring your vehicle to a certified vehicle service center to follow the manufacturer’s steps to fix the problem.
  • “Incomplete. Remedy Not Yet Available.” means that there’s an open recall for your vehicle. However, the manufacturer currently doesn’t currently have a solution to provide the repair.

Am I Required to Get a Recall Repaired?

No, it’s not required, but it’s highly recommended since vehicle recalls have to do with safety or performance issues. Getting the recall issue taken care of ensures your vehicle is as safe as possible or can achieve optimal performance. And if you plan to sell or trade in your vehicle, you’ll want that issue repaired as it can impact the vehicle’s resale value.

How Much Does a CDJR or Mazda Recall Repair Cost?

Recall repairs are free! The manufacturer covers the costs as long as the service is performed at a service center the manufacturer has certified.
