Both the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Grand Cherokee L are available in eight trim levels: Laredo, Laredo X, Altitude, Altitude X, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has the Laredo A base trim as well.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Grand Cherokee L are both available with two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD). Some of the lower trims are only available with 2WD, and some of the higher trims are only available with 4WD.


The standard engine is a 293-hp 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers an EPA-estimated 19 mpg/city and 26 mpg/highway. There’s also the option of a 357-hp 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine.


When properly equipped the Jeep Grand Cherokee has a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds and the Jeep Grand Cherokee L has a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds.


The available Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System and Class-Exclusive Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension provide the ground clearance and control needed for off-road adventures. There are three available 4x4 systems, as well as the available Trail Rated® capability.
