Jeep Wrangler Performance and Capabilities

There are two impressive Jeep Wrangler engines available for this off road vehicle. The 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with start/stop technology generates a maximum of 285 horsepower and a maximum torque of 260 lb-ft. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and gets an EPA-estimated 17 mpg/city, 23 mpg/highway, and 19 mpg/combined for the two-door compact SUV models. For the four-door midsize SUV models, this engine gets EPA-estimated 16 mpg/city, 22 mpg/highway, and 19 mpg/combined.

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It delivers up to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The compact SUV model gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg/city, 23 mpg/highway, and 21 mpg/combined with this engine. The midsize SUV model gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg/city, 22 mpg/highway, and 21 mpg/combined.

The Jeep Wrangler towing capacity is 2,000 pounds or 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. With the four-door Rubicon trim levels, you get a best-in-class 5,000-pound maximum towing capacity when properly equipped.

This Jeep SUV has three 4X4 systems: the Command-Trac® Part-Time 4x4 System, available full-time Selec-Trac® 4x4 System, and available full-time Rock-Trac® 4x4 System. These systems ensure you have the proper torque and traction for on and off the road. The Jeep Wrangler also has a heavy-duty full-float rear axle that transfers the vehicle weight from the axle shaft to a wheel hub-mounted spindle on tapered roller bearing for improved performance and durability.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler comes in two body styles: a two-door compact SUV or a four-door midsize SUV. As an open-air vehicle, this Jeep SUV offers removable hard-top and soft-top configurations. Choose between the body-color Removable Freedom Top® three-piece hardtop, black Sunrider® hardtop, black Freedom Top® three-piece hardtop, and the premium black Sunrider® soft top. It’s also the only SUV with solid front and rear axles.

There are eight available exterior color options, including the new ‘41 Green, inspired by the olive drab color of classic Willys Jeep.

The Jeep Wrangler rides on 17-inch, 18-inch, or 20-inch wheels. If you opt for the Rubicon and Willys two-door compact SUV models, you can add the Xtreme 35 Tire Package, which comes with 35-inch tires. It also provides a Best-in-Class breakover angle on the Willys two-door model.

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler features the Uconnect® 5 infotainment system with 12.3-inch touch screen display. Higher trims add available or standard navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard for smartphone connectivity.
